Most calls we get are about doors that stopped moving mid-cycle, or a loud bang followed by a door that won't budge - usually a torsion spring. If your opener runs but the door doesn't move, that's almost always a cable or a stripped gear inside the unit, not the motor itself. Tell us what you're hearing and seeing and we can usually tell you over the phone whether it's worth a visit or something you can safely check yourself first, like a disconnected safety sensor.
We don't run a 24-hour dispatch line with guaranteed arrival windows - if that's what you need, say so up front so we can be honest about whether we're the right call for your timeline. What we can tell you is what the job likely involves once we're looking at the actual hardware in your garage, not a guess over the phone.
What We Will Not Do
We won't quote a spring or opener repair sight unseen and hold you to that number once we're in the garage - torsion spring wire gauge and drum size vary enough between houses built in different decades that a phone guess isn't a real price.
We don't install openers or springs we haven't seen in person first, because homes in this area run from 1938 through 1996 in construction, and a door built for one era's hardware doesn't always take a modern retrofit kit without changes to the track or header.
We won't tell you a repair is impossible just to sell a replacement, and we also won't patch a door that's cheaper to replace outright - if the rot in a wood panel or the rust in a track has gone past what a repair fixes, we'll say so plainly instead of billing you twice.
We don't stock every obsolete part. Some of the one-piece doors and older extension-spring setups still in use on pre-1960 houses in this area use hardware that isn't made anymore, and parts for those can take longer to source than a same-day fix. We'll tell you that before we start, not after.

That covers Lincoln Park about 2 miles out, Totowa, Fairfield, Pompton Plains, and Towaco each around 3 miles, North Caldwell, Montville, Haledon, Woodland Park, Pine Brook, Cedar Grove, Riverdale, Pompton Lakes, and North Haledon within about 4 to 6 miles, and out to West Caldwell, Caldwell, Paterson, Butler, Lake Hiawatha, and Hawthorne around 6 miles.
Farther out we still take calls in Verona, Essex Fells, Franklin Lakes, Upper Montclair, Kinnelon, Boonton, Roseland, Oakland, Clifton, and Montclair, all within roughly 7 to 8 miles of our base on Galesi Dr.
Housing stock across these towns skews older - most of the 152 named areas nearby are dominated by pre-1960 construction - so a lot of the doors we're called out on still have their original tracks or hardware, even where the door face itself has been swapped over the years.
